Save money when buying groceries by using some of these tips:

Think generic for baking items. Buy store brands for flour, sugar and for other ingredients that will be used in making other things. No one will even know that you have substituted for store brands.

Ask the store if they match prices for other stores. this would save you from running store to store wasting precious gas. Most stores will now match prices for other stores.

Plan your meals around the weekly circular. This is a great way to save money, if you have coupons that you can use with the circulars you can save more. What we do is look at the circular then print the coupons that match the products. We save quite a bit doing this. We only print the coupons that we need and use them.

Ask for rain checks for items that are on sale and they are out of stock on. You will be able to use this later on other shopping trips.

Watch the register when they are ringing up your items. This is where most errors are made.

Don’t buy items at the grocery stores that can be bought cheaper elsewhere. Many times the dollar stores will sell name brand items for much less. If you are flexible with different brands this is a great way to save money.


Eat less – Do you have a lot of left overs that go to waste? Are you cooking too much? Cut down what you eat and cook and you will save money.

Buy drinks that you can make. Start drinking teas, kool-aid, water and stop buying soda’s .

Stock up on things that are sale and that you have room to store it.

Buy a freezer that you can use and buy in bulk when you can.
