Tiger Great Tips

Cars are expensive but a necessity to many people. You don’t have to buy a brand new car to have a nice looking car.

In Fact Ms. Cheap-O never buys new cars. Mine are usually totaled vehicles that needs rebuilt. But because my husband is a mechanic/bodyman we can get a great looking car for next to nothing. I have never had a new car or a car payment which I am grateful for. But many people are not as fortunate to have someone who can repair cars.

So Where can you get cheap cars?

Try Looking at these places for Cheap Cars.

Auto Auctions- These are usually dealers only but sometimes you can find them opened to the public. You bid on cars as they are driven down the isles with the bidders on both sides. The Auctioneer will start the pricing and the people interested in it will bid.

Pro Tip at Auto Auctions-

  1. Before the Auction Starts Walk the lot of cars for sale. Inspect BEFORE buying and bidding. Usually once you bid the car is yours and there is no turning back.
  2. Know the Rules – Many Auto Auctions have a “lighting system”

For exampleRed lights mean that car is as – is .. Green light may have a warranty, Yellow light may mean that you have 24 hours to have it tested and return if you don’t want it.

  1. Read up on the Fees – All Auctions have fees to buyers and sellers. Always take this into consideration before deciding your bidding limit.
  2. Know the values of the Cars before you bid. This can be done while walking the lot and calling someone who is near a computer. Have the look it up at Kelly Blue Book or NADA.com for accurate pricing.
  3. Inspect the vehicle as much as you can. Usually you will not be able to talk to the owner to ask questions. This is totally up to you to know what your buying.
  4. Take a friend with you to help you look. This is best if your friend is car savvy.  2 sets of eyes will catch more than one set. Crawl under the car if you have to  to check it out. Usually when walking the Lot You WILL NOT be able to hear the car run.  The only time you will hear it run is when it’s being driven down the isles for the auction.

These tips will help you get a cheap car at Auto Auctions.  You can find great deals there but be an informed consumer.
